Mentoring Program

Do you need a mentor?

It’s easy to feel alone when you’re planning a big career move. Maybe you’re keen to try another type of job?  Or, you’re contemplating a sideways shift such as transferring your corporate skills to the nonprofit sector?

Everyone who is a genuine candidate for a major job change would love the reassurance of some sort of ‘try before they buy’ opportunity. You think that’s an impossibility? Well, perhaps not – if you think ‘mentor.’

When you’re trying to decide whether you’re making the right decisions about your future, there’s nothing quite so encouraging as having access to an expert.  And in this case, the best person to consult is someone who is willing to share the benefit of experience and success in a sector or in a specific role.

At Windsor, we have contact with people in hundreds of different occupations among our very wide spread of clients,  So of course we’re well placed to provide an  on-demand mentoring program to help our candidates.

By linking with a specially selected mentor, we can offer you the opportunity to learn what your proposed job entails in a real-life workplace environment.

You’ll soon know if the job is right for you and you can then make your choices accordingly.

Although this program is free, it is not offered as a standard service, so you will need to ask your Consultant for more detail.

What makes a good mentor?

The Harvard Business Review suggests that a good mentor:

  • is someone absolutely credible whose integrity transcends the message.

  • may tell you things you may not want to hear but leaves you feeling  that at least you've been heard.

  • interacts with you in a way that makes you want to become better.

  • helps you feel secure enough to take risks

  • gives you the confidence to rise above your inner doubts and fears.

  • supports your attempts to set goals to 'stretch' yourself.

  • shows you opportunities and highlights challenges you may not have seen yourself
