One
in twenty Australians seeking help turned away
By Ryan Witcombe
|
|
Australian
community and social service organisations are unable to meet the demand
for their services as more people turn to them for help, according to the
Australian Community Sector Survey.
The results of the survey –
which shows a 12% increase in assistance provided by Australia’s community services and welfare
sector - raise questions over Australia’s post-GFC economic
recovery.

Not
(quite) everyone downs tools for the Melbourne Cup!
|
|
It’s an accepted tradition for many
business operations to come to a full stop on Melbourne Cup Day. Others just take a
welcome short break from routine to get together for some lunch and social
distractions.
But however you like spend your MCD, just bear in
mind that this year may not be a good one to be completely out of touch.
Enjoy your day and have complete
peace of mind by calling Zonda on the Windsor Temp desk now on 07 3211-0001.

cover all your bases on Melbourne Cup Day, you can plan away to your
heart’s content.

Office
Style: Pop Art to Dickens revisited
|
|
La guerre des Post-it (the Post-it wars) aka the Great French Post-it War of 2011 is racing
through Europe to pepper thousands of
offices with huge, wall and window sized icons made out of coloured post-it
notes. Offices even of top tier
organisations are adorned with giant Marios,
Space Invaders, Pacman, Donald Duck, Marilyn
Monroe and Casper
the Friendly Ghost.
But, it
seems it’s unlikely to catch on in Australia where mining giant
BHP Billiton has issued a Dickensian charter that includes the removal of
each individual (correctly used) Post-it note from monitors and keyboards
at the end of the working day.

needed to do in your career – or perhaps you just haven’t tackled such a
task in a long, long time?
But perhaps you need to think about
it. Lately, some of the CV documents submitted by senior people are falling
well below contemporary benchmarks.
Here are a few fast and easy ways
for you to ensure your resume is just what a prospective new employer is
looking for.

Petrol price ripoff
|
|
Have you ever wondered why the price of petrol rises and
falls and have you ever had a sense of unease about how it all works?
On Monday unleaded
petrol in my local service station was $1.42 per litre.
I began to wonder what makes up this price. Why does it vary and how is it
connected to the wider world?
Just why is it that the price of petrol shoots up just before long
weekends and holidays?
