Nonprofit Is Our Specialisation

Foremost nonprofit specialist

Windsor’s affinity with the nonprofit sector has flourished over a decade of mutual encouragement and support.

Lead by Chief Executive Officer Dylys Bertelsen, Grad.Cert.Bus (Philanthropy & Non Profit Studies), Windsor values reflect her ethical philosophies concerning equity and social justice.

Today, considered Queensland’s foremost nonprofit specialist Windsor is increasingly ‘first port of call’ for nonprofit organisations from across Australia.

It’s the fit that counts

Even with sophisticated methods of marketing, fundraising and communication, questions of cultural fit and commitment continue to be vital in nonprofit team building. And it’s this understanding that makes Windsor’s insight and expertise so valuable.

Windsor has a remarkable record for placing outstanding candidates who bring just the right blend of experience, potential and ethos.

Windsor continually ‘gives back to its clients

Pleased to offer both ‘royal service’ and discounted fees to all its nonprofit clients, Windsor nevertheless maintains active programs through which it returns a percentage of its earnings to the nonprofit sector.

The avenues used for this philanthropy are: sponsorships, donations, educational scholarships, research, regular lunchtime forums for nonprofit CEO’s, free website promotion, staff training, seminars, support for charity events and pro bono work.

A record of these initiatives can be found in the Events section of the Windsor website

Specialist skills in recruitment and the resolution of HR issues plus a working knowledge of hundreds of active nonprofits, sees Windsor well placed to offer constructive advice on a range of human resource issues.

Research is a valuable contribution

As a consequence of its expertise, the major force driving Windsor’s ‘give back’ program in recent years has been a series of ground-breaking research projects focused on various HR aspects of nonprofit business.

Since 2007, these major initiatives have been implemented in conjunction with Research Director Dr Cameron Newton, Senior Fellow and Lecturer from the QUT School of Business.

Results from the second research study into the contemporary effectiveness of Nonprofit Boards influenced Windsor to add the recruitment of skills-specific non-executive Directors to its services menu.

The third study -  a two part enquiry into the situations and attitudes of both paid workers and volunteers in the Australian nonprofit sector -  has prompted so many requests from client companies that individual, customized research surveys of organizations has now also become a new Windsor service.

Windsor now organises custom research programs for client companies.

Now, the proven team of Windsor and Dr Cameron Newton’s researchers are deep research projects that have been specifically requested by nonprofit organizations.

Current focus is firmly fixed on comprehensive, multi-faceted evaluations of cultural change in fast growing nonprofit organizations. But other qualitative studies on HR-related issues are also in the pipeline.
