Recruiting New People

When you have staffing requirements, you’re looking to locate and win individuals who will add value to your team and to your business. The right skills set and experience are a good start. But only that. What is really important is that the person you recruit is a good fit – culturally and in terms of personal presentation and values.

The ramifications of hiring a mismatched personality can be extensive – and costly. When you factor in all the expenses involved in a re-hire, including retraining and smoothing resultant disruptions to staff morale it really is best to ‘get it right first time’.

At Windsor, we understand this very well.

So our Consultants invest a lot of time to learn all they can about your organization and the ways it works. They’ll listen to what you have to say, research your company on the Internet and build up the body of knowledge that provides a valuable base for selecting staff that ‘fit’.

From that advantage, much of the detailed interview, checking and assessment work undertaken by our Consultants is to ascertain that the candidates we recommend will fit your corporate culture and the personality of your existing team.

Look at the advertisements created by Windsor to attract quality candidates via the electronic job boards. You’ll notice that they vary from those written by most other placement agencies.

Windsor fashions its adverts to ‘flag down’ people to fit a particular role rather than advertising jobs into which people may be able to squeeze. It’s a telling difference.

And it’s one that continues on into the interview situation. Windsor Consultants take the time to gain an awareness of candidates’ career plans and aspirations. Combining that knowledge with an understanding of your business needs and objectives, they’re able to arrange matches that realize mutually fruitful results.

This saves you time and effort.

When Windsor sends you a shortlist of candidates recommended for interview, we do so in the belief that each of those individuals meets your specifications, would be of value to your organization and is worthy of your final selection.

No-one is ever there simply to make up the numbers.

Endorsing culture fit through psychometric testing

Falling into two categories which measure aptitude and personality, psychometric testing adds a further dimension to the interview profile.

Aptitude tests measure numerical, verbal, comprehension, abstract or spatial reasoning skills and information checking. Personality assessments indicate personal attributes, characteristics, behavioural patterns, motivations and more via a series of opened ended questions.

Reference checks

Windsor places great emphasis on reference checking. By recording and weighing up verbatim answers to set of specific questions, Consultants are able to add to the individual profile that has already been built of the candidate.
